>>>>you get up at 2 a.m. to go shopping (or pull an all nighter thanks to sales starting at midnight this year)
>>>>you enter a store with a mob to save a few dollars
>>>>you buy candles, socks, and pjs not because you need them....but because they are so cheap
>>>>you swear you are never doing it again, but a year later....the ads reel you back in
>>>>you are ready for bed by 7 p.m. on a Friday night
>>>>you realize afterwards that you could got all the deals online...some even cheaper
>>>>you conclude that cyber monday trumps black friday and that shopping via computer doesn't require lack of sleep, crazy pushy people, or long extended check out lines
I am really not going black friday shopping again.....well at least not at walmart. The whole 5 hour split of product releases was too much for me. From what I heard, I was glad Iwasn't there at 12 but that being said, everything was gone by the time I got there. I had either the choice of just sitting in line to wait for the 5 a.m. electronic sales or go to jcpennys which opened at 4. I went with penneys...which was a good choice! Entering Menards as it opened was an experience I'll never forget. I live a sheltered life but wish I had videotaped that for that couple of minutes. Intense? YES! I flew through that store though, not even stopping as I grabbed my stuff but rather putting it in the cart "on the go." Because if you stop, you are stuck. I was able to get out of there 20 minutes after entering. At least there, I felt I accomplished my mission :)
I also got a super sweet deal on a furniture set - and I purchased it via the phone. No fighting! That was smart. That was much smarter than getting up at 2 a.m. to drive to wally world. Seriously not doing that again. FOR SURE!

A lyrical rambling (and bonus game :)
SOOOOO....I am going to try and create a post using almost all lYrIcS. The cumulative message has very little meaning, it's just one song kind of flowed into the next...despite the randomness at times. The artists are listed below and each of the lyrics are noted by quotation marks (and in bold!!!) If you would like to try and match them up, have at it....oh the fun to be had :)
I couldn't accept there wasn't more there, so I thought "we may only have tonight but till the morning sun you're all mine." That was it, now "it's time to be a big girl and big girl's don't cry." I must ask though, "if I go crazy will you still call me super(wo)man? If I am alive and well, will you be there holding my hand?" no....
He was right when he said, "she swears the moon don't hang quite as it used to and she only sleeps when it's raining," But I have to remember that "you can't stop wishing if you don't let go. But things you find and lose, you know you keep on rolling, put the moment on hold."
"These train conversations are passing me by. and I don't have nothing to say. You get what you pay for but I had no intention of living this way." "I need this here old train to break down oh please, just let me please breakdown." Lastly, "I'm sorry I'm bad, I'm sorry I'm blue, I'm sorry about all things I said to you."

"The More I See, the Less I Know"
I am "trying to figure out what is and isn't true. And I don't hide my tears, the secrets, or my deepest fears" from you. Just so you know, "you've begun to feel like home. What's mine is yours to leave or take. What's mine is yours to make your own." Yet, "Im never gonna be good enough for you. I can't pretend that I'm alright and you can't change me. I can't be perfect, now it's just too late." As you know, "I am like a wild flame that catches on whatever's near but your mind is a firewalker, it sets its course and never veers." Obviously the feelings are not reciprocated, so "what is it about you that I adore? That makes me go insane??" If only, "I could use a dream or a genie or a wish to go back to a place much simpler than this. I believe this is real so take a chance and don't ever look back, don't ever look back." I really "tired my best to be guarded. I am an open book instead." "I break tradition. Sometimes my tries are outside the lines. We've been conditioned to not make mistakes but I can't live that way." I couldn't accept there wasn't more there, so I thought "we may only have tonight but till the morning sun you're all mine." That was it, now "it's time to be a big girl and big girl's don't cry." I must ask though, "if I go crazy will you still call me super(wo)man? I dare you....
SOOOO....I realize blogging is an entirely different world than facebook.
Which is mostly a good thing....
But i miss the comments...the "semi" social interaction fb provided.
therefore...being that I have had over 100 hits in less than a week...let me know you are there in writing, not just by being a number on my page counter.
i dare you to leave a comment :)

3 years ago tomorrow....
Tomorrow marks the "anniversary" of the day Evan had his severe seizures. It's a day that is forever etched into my memory...every vivid detail.
I wasn't sure if I was going to lose him that night. When I ask the ER dr if he would wake up, he didn't know. When I asked the pediatric intensive care doctor after he was life flighted to Sioux Falls, he's response was the same. Despite all of their concerns, I felt in my heart that Evan was going to be okay. I had peace. I had faith...God was going to take care of him. And he did. After his stint in Sioux Falls and many Mayo trips later, there are still no answers as to why it happened. However, the check ups have remained positive and reassuring. Most recently, we saw his neurologist in July and he was having only very brief seizure activity during his sleep deprived EEG. I look forward to the day when we have a completely "normal" report.
I am so proud of the boy Evan has become. 9 years old now and full of wisdom and compassion beyond his years. Tomorrow is just a reminder on how very very very blessed I am be to be his mom, I couldn't ask for a better son!
It is a day now that we celebrate....a day to celebrate life.

love by any other name is still love
what is love?
according to the dictionary love is
–noun
but what is love to you? are there any guarantees with love? what are the risks associated with the word? are there varying levels of love? is love a feeling or choice? is love real?
what do you think?
to me, love is multi dimensional. it takes many forms. it varies in intensity. but above all, love is love...regardless of race, orientation, or religion. love knows no boundaries.
when one chooses to open their heart, love is a feeling. however a choice must first be made to allow one to feel that feeling. specifically, love could be knocking on the door to your heart, but if you don't answer(the choice), love can't come in(the feeling).
looking at creation and the basic reasons we were made, i see love as a fundamental part of our existence. on every basic level, animals (and humans alike) were created to mate...love (and essentially reproduce.) the problem with a feeling so pure and so beautiful is how tainted the word has become and how easily people throw it around.
if you date someone for a couple weeeks, can you say, "i love you" or if you are a teenager and are certain you are "in love"...are you? or what about the couple that says i love you every night and every morning but by day, they are having affairs? something so valuable has been cheapened by so many.
ultimately though, i think it's what we are all searching for if we haven't already found it.
or do you think it is me wishing, wanting, hoping to think that something real in love yet exists? or is it just a fairy-tale dream....like the happy-ever-after way any good chick-flick ends?
more questions than answers....
but ultimately i can't help but still to believe. to have hope. and the dream that someday prince charming will come and sweep me off my feet. in my book, love is not only possible, but probable. even if it's like a giant game of "where's waldo", i know "he" is out there....somewhere.
(until then, perhaps i should book a flight to get some physical affection...although the TSA "pat-downs"may not be for everyone .)
................I am kidding, by the way :)
according to the dictionary love is
–noun
1.
a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person.
2.
a feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection, as for a parent, child, or friend.
3.
sexual passion or desire.
4.
a person toward whom love is felt; beloved person; sweetheart.
(plus several more "definitions.")

Is officially off the grid
Did you know you could safely disable your facebook account with losing it entirely? I wasn't ready to commit to deleting my fb world "forever" but this feature allows for one to temporarily disappear. I think that is just what I need. Although I care about what's going on in the lives of my 300+ "friends", I have come to the conclusion that if it's a "must know" kind of thing, I will find out another route.
So far the question that has been posed to me is "why?"
It's quite simple. Facebook has become a black hole for me. Not only have I wasted an uncountable amount of time on that site, very little of it has been beneficial or productive. Instead, it had manifested into some sort of alter reality where I was "living" too much of my life. I need to utilize that time to figure out more important things than what someone had for supper or what's happening on the current reality tv show. I want to get my life on track ....and when I do...I am sure I'll be back.
Maybe. :)

That was then...
Some hidden poetry - lots of work to be done with these but as cleaning out files...i stumbled on these from years gone by. Feel free to critisize. At some point I hope to work them over and turn them into some quality pieces.
**what is funny is that I dont even remember what this one is about....but here goes...**
The Forbidden Fruit (2007)
Delicate and smooth
Drawing me in
Wanting one Bite
Oh but the sin.
Like a drug
That isnt good
But that I desire
If only I could
Hesitating as I reach for it
Then I grab one from the tree
Alas the forbidden fruit
Made just for me
One taste....
One bite.
yet it is still not out of mind
when out of sight.
Wanting more
It doesn't matter now
Already went too far
And't I don't know how
I can't go back in time
What you and i did was wrong.
Who have I become?
Where do I belong?
Broken (2007)
My heart hath broken
The pain deeper than deep
My emotions have taken over
Uncontrollably I weep
Hours pass like minutes
Trying to survive the day
Not knowing the motions
I have lost the way
Just look at my weary eyes
My tired soul....
My broken spirit,
An empty hole
Sick to my stomach
With the expected despair
It hurts even more
when you show that you care
I tried so hard
But I wish I'd done more
I don't want it to end
Why didn't I feel this before?
The wall of anger that caged my heart
Has finally crumbled away
The sadness so real
Im broken forever and a day.
